Sherm grew up in a preacher's family and has been preaching since 1985.  He and his wife Carrie both graduated from Ozark Christian College where they met.  Sherm went on to complete his master's degree through Cincinnati Bible Seminary.  The Nichols have 2 sons in heaven - Jonathan and Stan, a daughter and son-in-law - Jennifer and Mark Pinta, and 2 younger sons - Jeff and Andy.

Sherm considers being able to serve as a minister a great privilege and has had the blessing of traveling overseas for short-term missions work, giving him a deeper appreciation for the Lord's work worldwide.

Along with his family, preaching, teaching, writing, and the work of the church, Sherm enjoys a good laugh, fishing, backpacking and just getting outdoors to get sunburned and bitten by bugs.  As much as he enjoys this creation, Heaven is his real home.  His favorite Bible character is Paul, who said, "I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life."

Mike has served as the Discipleship Minister since January of 1999. His responsibilities include overseeing Central's "ministry system", small groups, Central's Christian Life Development Cycle, Family Night Adult Electives, Young Married's Ministry, and helping new members get plugged into the life of the Body. Mike received a Bachelor's degree from Lincoln Christian College in Christian Ministry in 1976. He has done graduate work at Cincinnati Christian Seminary, Lincoln Christian Seminary, and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He and his wife Julie have three children, Joshua, Micah, and Nathan.

Ellen has been working as a volunteer and paid, part-time secretary since 1989. She also volunteers her time on Tuesday mornings as the church bookkeeper. Ellen has four grown children, 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, all raised in the presence of the Lord.

Lori, a native of Rockford, has been the part-time Children's Director since June of 2001. Her responsibilites include Pre-school Worship for 2yr. olds through Kindergarten children, “Extreme Wednesdays” mid-week ministry for pre-school age children (also assisting with 1^st-4^th grade), she helps over-see Vacation Bible School, coordinates “Special Events” and “Family Events,” and is the Director of the Creative Learning Center Pre-school. Lori is married to Scott and they have two daughters, Alyssa and Abigail.

Naomi has been serving as Secretary since September 1999.

Jan has been serving with Central Christian Church since January 2006.  He is a studio and live musician, music teacher, producer, composer, and arranger. Bass guitar is his first instrument. He also plays piano, accordion and acoustic guitar.  He holds degrees from Warsaw Theological Seminary, a BA in Music and Composition from Lincoln Christian University, and most recently an MA in Worship Studies also from Lincoln Christian University.  Before coming to CCC, he led many lives, including being co-founder and former bass player for GMB, the first full-time Christian band in communist Poland.  He has played in concert with Don Moen, Paul Baloche, Bob Fitts and Leon Patillo.  He is privileged to plan the weekend worship services and oversee everything that involves music and the arts, utilizing his passions for live music and compositions.  Jan has two beautiful daughters, Rebekah and Leah.
